Your BIC (Bank Identifier Code) — also called a SWIFT code — is a unique international code that identifies your bank.
It ensures that your withdrawals and transfers are sent safely to the right bank anywhere in the world.

What does a BIC look like?

It’s usually made up of 8 or 11 letters, for example:

  • KREDBEBB → KBC Bank

  • GEBABEBB → BNP Paribas Fortis

  • AXABBE22 → AXA Bank

  • BBRUBEBB → ING Belgium

The first 4 letters = your bank
The next 2 letters = your country
The rest identifies the specific branch

Where can I find my BIC/SWIFT code?

You can easily find it:

  • In your banking app or online banking, under “Account details”

  • On your bank statements

  • On your bank card (some banks print it there)

  • Or by contacting your bank directly

Tip: Your BIC is always shown next to your IBAN in your bank app.
